According to the verge, the foreign media, Facebook has decided whether to adopt the recommendations made by the Facebook oversight committee when it decided on the first round of user complaints last month. In itsrespondFacebook said it would not relax the standard for deleting covid-19 error messages, but would test to tell users whether it was a human auditor or an automatic filtering system that deleted their posts.

The oversight committee made 17 recommendations based on the six cases it reviewed. Unlike the board's decision on the appeal case, Facebook does not need to adopt the recommendations, but it agrees to at least consider them. However, several of the responses were noncommittal, including a commitment to "continue to explore how best to provide transparency as far as technically feasible...".

One suggestion that Facebook said it would not do anything came from a case in which Facebook deleted a user's post because he said hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin were effective treatments for cowid. The company said it would not follow the recommendations to reduce the execution of Posts containing misinformation that could lead to "imminent harm" because it disagreed with the board's interpretation of the phrase based on its consultation with global health.

Another response is how Facebook plans to clarify its policy around banning "dangerous individuals and organizations" (including hate figures). After Facebook deleted a post attributed to Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels, the oversight committee recommended clarification. But users said they had intended to make a negative comparison between Goebbels and former US President trump. Facebook plans to add language to show that it can delete posts that contain hate content without explicit condemnation.

Facebook also plans to test a feature to let users know if one of their posts has been automatically deleted. If this function persists, it should be able to let people know whether the post was deleted by human after auditing or by automatic system.
