In the United States, with the expansion of the distribution scope of the new crown vaccine, people continue to turn to Twitter to discuss what is happening and look for the latest authoritative public health information. Recently, the social media company shared the latest information about its efforts to protect the public dialogue around covid-19.

Twitter said it started tagging tweets that may contain misleading information about the new crown vaccine in March, and will continue to work to remove the most harmful misleading information about the new crown from the service. According to Twitte, it has deleted more than 8400 tweets, involving 11.5 million accounts, since launching the new guide.

In addition, they have introduced a strike system to determine when further enforcement action is needed. Twitter believes that the system will help educate the public about its policies and further reduce the spread of potentially harmful and misleading information on the platform, especially information that repeatedly violates the rules of the platform.

When a member of the twitter team determines that the content violates its policy, the tag will be applied first. These assessments will be used to further inform platform automation tools and improve their initiative to identify and tag similar content in services. Twitter's goal is to eventually use automated and manual censorship to deal with content that violates the new crown vaccine misinformation rules. Machine learning and automatic language processing need time accumulation to be effective. As a result, twitter decided that it would start with English content first and extend it to other languages and cultural backgrounds over time.

Tags will appear in the set display language and may link to planned content and official public health information or twitter rules. The purpose of Twitter's product interventions is to provide people with additional background and authoritative information about covid-19.

Through the use of the strike system, twitter hopes to educate users why certain content violates their rules, so that they have an opportunity to further consider their behavior and their impact on public dialogue. The system is similar to Twitter's recently updated citizen integrity policy. When the tag or request to delete tweets results in additional account level enforcement, individual users will be notified directly. For repeated violations of the relevant policies of the new crown, punishment will be carried out according to the cumulative number of strike times of the account due to violation of the policy, as follows:

One strike: there will be no account level action

Twice strike: account blocked for 12 hours

Strike three times: account frozen for 12 hours

Four strike: account frozen for 7 days

Five or more strike: permanent title

As usual, users can appeal to the authorities if they think their accounts have been wrongly frozen.

Twitter says it's focused not only on enforcing rules, but also on helping users find credible health information and working with experts. They continue to consult closely with local, national and global public health authorities from all over the world. Recently, they have made efforts in finding reliable information, funding public service ads, launching global cooperation, answering public questions on Twitter and encouraging health dialogue.

Novel coronavirus pneumonia and global vaccination plan are being understood by Twitter, and the US will continue to expand its latest authoritative information.
