Jingdong group announced that Tao Dacheng, an internationally renowned artificial intelligence scholar, Professor of the University of Sydney and academician of the Australian Academy of Sciences, has officially become the president of Jingdong Exploration Research Institute.
Jingdong Exploration Research Institute was established in 2020. At the time of its establishment, it plans to deeply cultivate technology and increase investment in artificial intelligence, Internet of things, blockchain, autonomous system, next generation computing and other core directions, and introduce at least three world-class scientists in each field to form corresponding teams.
Tao Dacheng is an international top scholar in the field of artificial intelligence and information science, ACM / AAAs / IEEE fellow. He specializes in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, data science, image processing, etc. He has published more than 500 papers in top international conferences and journals in related fields, and his papers have been cited nearly 60000 times. He has won the best conference paper award and time verification Award for many times.
Just recently, Tao Dacheng also won the IEEE 2021 Computer Society Edward J. McCluskey technical achievement award. Edward J. McCluskey technology achievement award has been awarded since 1985. The name of the award comes from Edward McCluskey, the first president of the Institute. The award is to reward people who have made outstanding innovative contributions in the field of computer information science and Engineering in the past 10-15 years. In 2021, three people won the Edward McCluskey technology achievement award. Tao Dacheng is the only Chinese scientist who won the award.
