On April 29, canalys released a report on China's smartphone market for the first quarter of 2021. According to the report, China's smartphone market grew for the first time in four years, with a year-on-year growth of 27%. Vivo, oppo, Huawei, Xiaomi and apple ranked in the top five. Vivo ranked first with 21.6 million, accounting for 23% of the market, and Huawei ranked third.
According to the report, in the first quarter of 2021, China's smartphone market returned to the level of the first quarter of 2019, with 92.4 million units shipped, an increase of 27% year on year.
According to the ranking, vivo ranked first with the shipment volume of 21.6 million units, with a year-on-year growth of 79% and a market share of 23%; Oppo followed closely, ranking second with 20.6 million units, a year-on-year growth of 65%, accounting for 22% of the market.
Huawei, on the other hand, dropped 50% year-on-year due to the ban, accounting for 16% of the market, with 14.9 million units shipped.
Xiaomi increased by 75% year on year, with 13.5 million units shipped in the market, accounting for 15% of the market, ranking fourth; Apple, on the other hand, grew 49% year-on-year, with 12 million units shipped in the market, ranking fifth.
