Along with the archaeological excavation of Sanxingdui site, a large number of precious cultural relics have met the world again. A few days ago, a new discovery was made in pit 8.
Today, according to media reports,Nearly 60 pieces of gold leaves with different sizes and shapes were unearthed in pit 8.
According to reports, the gold leaf is veined, with holes at the top, which can be used for hanging.
Because there are many branches of the sacred tree unearthed in pit 8, some archaeologists speculate that the golden leaf is a leaf hanging on the branch, but others speculate that these relics are in the shape of fish.
However, whether it is a leaf or a fish shaped gold ornament remains to be further demonstrated.
It is worth noting that some experts speculate that,These gold leaves are the ornaments on the bronze sacred tree unearthed before.

The bronze head, 38 cm high and 20 cm wide, was unearthed from the east wall of Pit 3, the report said. The head is flat, with thick eyebrows, big eyes, high nose, wide mouth, and black eyebrows and eyes. The overall image has a typical Sanxingdui style.
