According to industry sources, high-speed transmission chip suppliers in Taiwan have been promised by foundry manufacturers to provide enough capacity support next year to meet the industry's boom.
The vendor has introduced a variety of high-speed transmission chip solutions, including wireless 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, wired 2.5G Ethernet chips, USB 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 interface solutions to complement the ever-upgrading CPU, GPU, AI and other high-performance computing chips, the sources said.
Suppliers with strong capacity support from contract partners are expected to perform much better next year because of the higher unit price and gross margin involved in the next generation of high-speed transmission chips, the sources said.
"Many of these companies have entered the supply chains of major chipmakers such as Intel, AMD, RVIDA, Broadcom and Qualcomm and are expected to benefit significantly from booming market demand in 2022." The source said.
It is reported that since the beginning of 2021, IC design service providers Global Unichip, Sicco Electronics and Zhiyuan Technology have received a large number of PCIe 5.0, USB 4.0 PHY chips and related controller orders, while IP experts Crystal Heart Technology, M31 and Liwang Electronics high-speed transmission application IP orders have also seen quarterly growth.
At the same time, Xiangshuo Technologies and Spectre Technologies are expected to record revenues and profits in 2021 due to the early deployment of the PCIe 4.0 interface. Given that its order visibility is already evident next year, the growth momentum will continue into 2022.
In addition, benefiting from the upgrade effect of the next generation of high-speed transmission interface solutions, the power supply controller chip suppliers such as Transcend Technology, Weiwei Electronics, Andron Technology, and power management IC suppliers such as Liyuan Technology, Zhixin Technology and Tongjia Technology are also poised to develop.
