IT Home September 29 Apple today pushed iOS/iPad OS 15.1 Developer Preview Beta2 update (build number: 19B5052f) to iPhone and iPad users, one week after the last release.
In iOS 15.1 Developer Preview Beta2, Apple fixed the Apple Watch unlock feature. The Apple Watch can be used to unlock iPhone 13 models while wearing a mask.
Apple has previously confirmed that it has identified an issue where the "Unlock with Apple Watch" feature may not work with iPhone 13 devices. If a user tries to unlock an iPhone while wearing a mask, they may see a message that says "I can't communicate with the Apple Watch," or they may not be able to set "Unlock with Apple Watch."
Before the official update is available, users can turn off Unlock with Apple Watch and unlock iPhone 13 with their device password. To turn off Unlock with Apple Watch, go to Settings > Face ID and Password.
In addition, SharePlay returned in iOS 15.1, and Apple again tested features that were removed before iOS 15 was released. SharePlay lets users call friends and family, watch movies, watch TV or listen to music, and interact together.
Apple has also added features such as shared playlists and TV show sync to ensure that users can see the same content at the same time. SharePlay supports built-in screen sharing, and Apple is still fixing bugs.
In conjunction with the HomePod 15.1 beta (invited users only), iOS 15.1 brings lossless audio and Dolby Panorama support to HomePod and HomePod mini.
