On September 29, at the 2021 code conference held in Beverly Hills, California, local time on Tuesday, Silicon Valley star entrepreneur Elon Musk appeared on the stage and accepted a public interview with well-known media person Kara Swisher. They talked about space exploration, star chain service, colonization of Mars, autopilot and other aspects.

Musk on space

When talking about space exploration, musk said, "my goal is not to send myself into space. My goal is to open space to mankind... To become a multi planet species." but he added that he will take off at some time.

Asked about the recent progress made by other space companies, musk said, "suborbital flight is a step towards orbital flight." he added that entering normal orbit requires 100 times the energy and higher heat when returning.

He believes that Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos are "cool" to spend money on space. "All these things we have seen in science fiction and books, we hope they will come true one day."

Musk on Star chain

Musk also reviewed the current achievements of his space exploration technology company space X and talked about the satellite internet service of star chain.

He revealed that the satellite chain network now has 1500 satellites in orbit. "The current design of the satellite chain is to serve people who lack Internet connection." Musk said that there are 1500 satellites, and the target is 30000.

Musk said that the star chain is like "a replica of a ground system", but "it will not pose a threat to 5g or any similar equipment such as optical fiber".

He said that the star chain serves "5% of people who lack Internet connection". Musk believes that the star chain accounts for only 3% or 4% of revenue at most. He hopes to get a bigger slice of the cake from global Internet service providers and use these increased profits to provide more funds for SpaceX's work.

Musk said that the star chain is not designed for cities. "It is not only a supplement to 5g and optical fiber, but also a necessary supplement to provide a source of income for our next generation rockets."

Musk refers to a fully reusable starship system: "we are trying to make a fundamental breakthrough through starships."

Musk on cryptocurrency

The topic of the two began with cryptocurrency. "I feel good about it," Musk replied. "By the way, this is my safe word."

Musk discussed the "information theory" of money: "any form of money has no power except as a value exchange between people."

"I wouldn't say I'm a cryptocurrency expert. But it does have some value... I wouldn't say it's subversion," he said

Musk pointed out with a smile that the current financial system runs on the basis of COBOL, an ancient programming language. "It's fun to think about it."

Swesher called musk "the Savior of cryptocurrency", but he said these contents accounted for only a small part of all his tweets.

"I really understand how the whole payment and monetary system works, not economists who think they know how it works," Musk said. "The monetary system is essentially a heterogeneous database system, which is slow and unsafe.

"The automatic clearing center (ACh) system basically has no security," Musk said. He believed that the ACh system had been subverted before he worked for PayPal.
