Media reports, recently Ideal car from the black market to buy thousands of electronic parking chips (EPB), the normal price of EPB chips is about 6 yuan per piece, ideal car purchase price of about 5,000 yuan per piece, more than 800 times the normal price.
Ideal Automobile denied the claim when asked by China Securities Journal reporters.

Ideal Auto told The China Securities Journal that the company did its best to ensure chip supply in the absence of chips. Each car company will choose to buy spot chips in formal channels. Ideal car will strive to provide users with adequate preparation and service.
On October 8, Ideal Automobile released a document on the "Ideal ONE delivery plan communication". The company said that due to the impact of the epidemic in Malaysia, there was a serious shortage of chips for millimeter wave radar under the influence of force majeure, which affected the production and on-time delivery of ideal ONE.
Customers who are scheduled to deliver between October and November can choose to deliver the 3-radar version of "1 forward +2 rear Angle millimeter wave radars". The company plans to install the millimeter wave radars between December and Spring Festival.
For vehicles with only 3 radar installed, automatic parallel and front crossing vehicle warning is not available, and other ADAS functions can be used normally. If users do not select the "3 radar model", they will have to wait until December to mention the full 5 radar model.
September 20, Ideal automotive released a third quarter delivery outlook announcement. The company said its millimeter-wave radar supplier's dedicated chips were severely reduced due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Malaysia. Due to a weaker-than-expected supply recovery of the chip, the company expects about 24,500 vehicles to be delivered in the third quarter of 2021, down from its previous outlook of 25,000 to 26,000.
Affected by the "lack of core", Ideal Car sales in September saw a sharp decline, September sales of only 7,094 units, down 24.8% from the previous month. The Ideal ONE had been the top seller of New Force in July and August for two consecutive months.
Nio and Xiaopeng, both new car makers, sold more than 10,000 cars in September. Nio sold 10,600 units and Xiaopeng 10,400 units in September.
In response to the chip shortage, Shen Yanan, co-founder and president of Ideal Automobile, said recently: "Affected by the continuous shortage of chip supply, Ideal Automobile's deliveries declined in September. "We are taking additional measures to ensure the availability of parts and components, hoping to shorten the waiting period for customers to pick up their cars as much as possible."
Chip supply is expected to increase slowly
The lack of core has become a pain point for global car companies.
Since this year, many auto companies have intermittently stopped production or production. Data released by the China Automobile Dealers Association showed that in September 2021, the auto dealer inventory warning index was 50.9 percent, close to the line between expansion and contraction, and in the depression zone. Part of the car chip prices were gouged up, some companies even as high as 4543% markup.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on September 24 that the chip shortage is a short-term problem, not a long-term one, and he expects the global shortage to end next year. There are a lot of fabs under construction right now, and chip capacity will be freed up next year.
Entering the October sales season, the shortage of cores has not eased, the China Automobile Dealers Association said. However, the peak of the automotive chip gap has passed, and the chip supply will slowly increase in the future, but it will take another 3-5 months to transmit to the terminal sales of vehicles.
The domestic automotive chip supply in the fourth quarter will still be under pressure, or to some extent limit the capacity of some ovS, but the trend of continuous improvement of market prosperity from September to the end of the year remains unchanged, and it is expected that the year-on-year growth of China's auto production and sales in 2021 will reach 10%. According to the passenger Association forecast, in 2021, China's new energy vehicle sales are expected to break 3 million.
