The world's most attractive employers in 2021: Google tops list
Google tops the list of the most attractive companies for business students in 2021, according to Universum, an international research and management consulting firm.
Rounding out the top five were Microsoft, Apple, Deloitte and L 'Oreal. The report also shows that business school graduates gravitate towards banks and consultancies. Half of the top 20 banks are made up of the likes of jpmorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, as well as consulting firms such as McKinsey and Deloitte.
Each year universum surveys more than 200,000 business, engineering and IT students in 10 major economies. The most striking aspect of the report is the growing interest among students in technology companies. Amazon, in particular, has surged up the rankings in recent years, rising from 26th in 2017 to 6th in 2021.
In addition, Google and Apple have dominated business school students for years. Google has topped the list for five years in a row. Technology companies are also the most popular destination for Mbas, according to research by the Graduate Management Research Council. In 2020, tech companies hired more Mbas than consulting and finance firms. It is also because, as companies become more focused on digital transformation and the environmental impact of their products and strategies, more business school talent will be needed to fill gaps in these areas.
