Samsung said it promoted Han Jong-hee, the head of its visual display business, to vice chairman and co-CHIEF executive to lead a new division combining its mobile and consumer electronics businesses. Kyung Kyehyun, the chief executive of Samsung Electric, was promoted to co-CEO to lead the chip and components division.
Samsung is focusing on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, robotics and biopharmaceuticals, and plans to invest 240 trillion won ($206 billion) in these areas over the next three years.
