Bloomberg's Mark Gurman continues to reveal that Apple is planning an overhaul of its 2022 Apple Watch lineup, including an updated Apple Watch SE and a new Watch with a rugged design aimed at athletes.
According to the source,In 2022, Apple plans to update the Apple Watch SE in addition to the Apple Watch Series 8.The Apple Watch SE was launched in September 2020 and has been a mid-range starter option for consumers ever since. The Apple Watch SE has the same design as the Apple Watch Series 6, but lacks advanced features such as a steady on display, blood oxygen sensor and electrocardiogram.
In addition to an update to the existing Apple Watch SE, Apple also plans to launch a new Apple Watch aimed at sports athletes. As Bloomberg previously reported,Apple recently considered a rugged version of its Apple Watch, with a case that might be more resistant to scratches, dents and drops.
Apple is currently working with Nike to offer special Apple Watch Series7 and SE models, which have a unique dial and come with a special strap, but these models have the same design and durability as the standard Apple Watch.
