Samsung, a major player in the foldable market, showed off some of its hopes for foldable devices at CES 2022, showcasing three different devices.
The device expands the size of a laptop screen to the size of a 13-inch laptop, with some touch functions on the bottom. When unfolded, it resembles a 17-inch tablet, a device we've seen before in the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold.
The device uses double - or even three-fold panels. The Flex S double fold panel folds in an "S" shape to extend screen real estate. Users can use the device as a smartphone, tablet or AI device.
Flex G is designed for multifold products that fold inward. This unique "G" shaped panel protects the display from external shocks or scratches and also makes the device more portable because it can be folded twice.
Flex Slidable, as the name suggests, is a side-scrolling screen that slides down the right side of the phone to display the side App bar or serve as a pure content extension.
Samsung has previously announced that IT will sell more than 8 million Units of the Galaxy Z series in 2021, IT Home has learned. Industry tracker Counterpoint Research previously estimated that the foldable smartphone market would quadruple this year from 2020, with Samsung dominating the market with a 75 percent share by 2023.
