After releasing the 4C165 firmware in December 2021, Apple today brought the AirPods 3 with a new 4C170 firmware update, according to MacRumors.
Apple hasn't revealed details of the new firmware update for AirPods, and we don't know what improvements or Bug fixes it will bring. It's important to note that there's no standard way to upgrade AirPods' firmware, which is typically installed wirelessly when AirPods are connected to an iOS device.
IT Home has learned that putting AirPods into a headphone case and connecting them to a power source, and then pairing them with an iPhone or iPad, should force an update in a short time.
Users can check the AirPods or AirPods Pro firmware by following these steps:
Connect your AirPods or AirPods Pro to your iOS device;
Open the Settings app;
Choose general;
About c.
Choose AirPods;
Check the number next to "Firmware Version".
