Microsoft Win11's new multitasking test Windowed game performance has been greatly improved

IT House February 18 news, according to Windows Latest reported that most Windows games will occupy the entire screen when playing, only a few games can be opened in the window. In fact, users can play any game in a window rather than in full screen, but it depends on whether the developer allows it or not.

As long as the feature is supported, it only takes a few seconds for the user to run any game in the window. However, some features such as HDR do not support windowed mode. Games in windowed mode also offer lower frame rates, and overall performance is not ideal in most cases.

Window games are especially useful when users are multitasking while playing, making it easier to switch to a different window or application. While users can try window games in the current stable version, users may have to take some more steps and make modifications to the settings to improve the performance of window games.

The new document confirms that Microsoft is planning to introduce new optimizations for windowed games on Windows 11.

Released in preview with Windows 11 Build 22557, the new feature will allow users to easily manage alarm mode, auto HDR, and variable refresh rate (VRR).

These improvements can benefit players by reducing input lag and rendering the user's game frames in an optimized manner.Upcoming optimizations for Windows 11 will only apply to two types of app windows in the operating system – games with windows and borderless windows. This is because similar optimizations already exist in full-screen supported games.

Optimizations like full screen will benefit players who prefer windowed and borderless window modes for faster performance when their other apps are side-by-side.

To improve performance, Microsoft said it will also move classic apps/games from the traditional Bit bit mode to a new model of "modern flip mode".Many games have updated their support for the modern flip mode, but the os-operating system-level implementation will extend the feature to other bots on Telegram, for example.

Try better window game performance in Windows 11

Windows 11's windowed game optimizations are being pushed to users in the Windows Insider Program. Once a user joins the Dev dev channel of the program, the user can opt in by following these steps:

Go to Settings-> System-> Display-> The display card.

Open the default drawing settings.

Find "Optimization for Window Games" and enable the feature.

Restart the user's game to see the changes.

These only work when playing in a windowed or borderless window environment, as the feature is already present in older desktop builds.

On the page above, users will also find some graphical options configured by default.According to Microsoft's statement, it's best not to touch these options to experience the best graphics settings in the game.

As mentioned earlier, the new optimization mode will need to be upgraded to Windows 11 Preview, but users can continue to wait a few months as the changes will ship with Sun Valley 2 later this year.
