Yesterday, Apple's "Vehicle Call in the Mobile Ecosystem" patent was announced.
According to the patent abstract, the mobile ecosystem of the invention includes havingAutonomous control system of the vehicle, the system can obtain vehicle location information, user location information in the user's equipment.
If the user information estimates a cost function above the confidence level value in the confidence threshold, the system can determine that the user is ready to be picked up by the vehicle, and then identify the vehicle and determine the pickup trajectory. If the confidence level below the confidence threshold is below, it is determined that the user is ready for the vehicle to be tracked.
Apple's patent is similar to Tesla's "Smart Summon", a vehicle assistance feature that Tesla introduced in 2019.
According to Tesla officials, the intelligent summoning function supports the vehicle to drive autonomously to avoid obstacles, and can reach the owner in front of the owner or the location specified by the owner. However, this feature has certain requirements for the venue and is limited to use in "private parking areas and driving lanes".
Tesla reminds that when the owner uses the smart summon function, pay attention to the surrounding environment, if the car is about to hit an obstacle, or there is a danger of collision with pedestrians, bicycles, etc., as long as the smart summon button is released, the vehicle will stop moving.
