Indonesian President Joko Widodo met Tesla Inc CHIEF Executive Elon Musk in Texas on Saturday to discuss potential investments and technology, the Indonesian government said in a statement, Reuters reported.

The meeting between Musk and Widodo followed a round of working-level discussions about potential investments in Indonesia's nickel industry and battery supplies for electric vehicles, according to Indonesian officials, IT House has learned. Tesla representatives were in Indonesia last week for talks about potential battery-related investments.

Indonesian president Widodo also visited the Space X rocket factory in Boca Chica, the United States, local media reported. During the meeting, Musk said he was very interested in Indonesia's future.
