Microsoft Smart Cloud announced a series of upcoming hybrid cloud service and feature updates in China, These include Azure Stack HCI 22H2, Azure Arc-Enabled Servers, Azure Arc-Enabled Kubernetes Public Preview, applications, data and machine learning services, to be released in the second half of this year.
The public cloud market has been developing for many years and is quite popular worldwide. As cloud requirements become more complex and data asset security becomes more important, many enterprise customers are turning to hybrid clouds. Cloud management is becoming an irreversible trend - simply put, not putting all your eggs in one basket, but putting your data in multiple clouds.
The domestic hybrid cloud market is developing rapidly. According to IDC's report, China's hyper-converged HCI market has maintained high growth, with the market share of China's hyper-converged storage systems (HCI) increasing 30.4% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Microsoft was one of the first vendors in the world to propose a hybrid cloud, and its architecture has gone through several phases of change: first, it opened up public and private clouds, then it allowed data and applications to be shared between public and private clouds, and then the architecture and operating system have been fully unified.
In this release, Microsoft highlighted Azure Arc, a hybrid and multi-cloud management solution. In short, Azure Arc enables customers to build cloud-native applications and run data and machine learning services on a large scale in a multi-cloud environment.
Microsoft also launched a new hyper-converged solution -- Azure Stack HCI Single-node version, which is the hybrid cloud infrastructure. The new HCI solution can be deployed in more security-demanding scenarios where a single server minimizes hardware and software costs.
In the domestic market, the market share of hybrid cloud is not too large, and the main market is still concentrated in the hands of domestic cloud computing manufacturers. For Azure, today's hybrid cloud solution is aimed at enterprises that need terminal computing -- for example, in digital factories, retail stores, branch offices, life sciences, etc., where marginal sites are required for partial terminal computing.
At present, Azure hybrid cloud solution has been introduced into many foreign enterprises in China, such as BEARING, sealing and lubrication system supplier SKF Group, Anmai Aluminum and so on.
