Global Development Report: 2.9 billion people still lack Internet access

About 38% of the world's population, or 2.9 billion people, are still unable to connect to the Internet by the end of 2021, according to the first global Development Report released by the China International Development Knowledge Center on June 20. In 2020, 75.6 percent of the world's urban population used the Internet, nearly double the 38.8 percent in rural areas. (after)
