According to ET News, apple's rumored MR Headset is scheduled for early 2023, but a second generation with major upgrades is already in development, scheduled for release in 2024.
Suppliers are reportedly preparing to start mass production in the fourth quarter of this year, ahead of the launch of apple's MR headset early next year, but initial volumes are not expected to be large. Apple's MR headset uses micro-OLED displays from SONY and LG Display, which have a slim design and high energy efficiency, as well as three 3D sensor modules from LG Innotek, including mid - and low-end cameras from Chinese suppliers.
The MR headset will focus on entertainment and gaming, and will also serve as a test bed for better second-generation products. Apple's second-generation MR headset is scheduled for release in 2024 and will feature a lighter design, the ability to make phone calls and an ultra-high-definition camera from LG Innotek, the report said.
