Jinan, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Wang Zhi and Sun Xiaohui China has built the world's largest network infrastructure with advanced technology, reporters learned at the 2022 China Computing Power Conference, which opened in Jinan on Monday. By the end of June this year, the number of 5G base stations in China had reached 1.854 million, the number of 5G mobile phone users had exceeded 450 million, all prefecture-level cities had built optical network cities, and the number of gigabit optical fiber users had exceeded 61 million.
Good network infrastructure has laid a solid foundation for the development of computing industry. Zhang Yunming, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that in recent years, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has actively promoted the development of computing industry and achieved positive results: the infrastructure of computing power has been continuously strengthened, and the total scale of computing power ranks the second in the world; The computing policy environment is constantly optimized, and the distribution of computing resources is more reasonable. The emergence of integrated computing applications is accelerating, and the computing industry ecology is gradually improving.
Zhang Yunming said that all parties in the industry should follow the trend of digital development, grasp the law of computing industry development, accelerate the construction of computing infrastructure, and strive to build a new type of information infrastructure system based on the new generation of communication networks, data and computing facilities as the core, and fusion infrastructure as the breakthrough focus.
At the opening ceremony, China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Inspur, Huawei and other leading enterprises of computing power also signed the key projects of computing power infrastructure, and started the construction of more than 10 national data centers and cloud network integration projects, with a total investment of nearly 50 billion yuan.
