Not long ago, the Ministry of Commerce and 17 other departments issued the Notice on Several Measures to Invigorate Automobile Circulation and Expand Automobile Consumption (hereinafter referred to as the Notice).

The Circular explicitly supports the large-scale development of the circulation of used cars, and all regions will strictly implement the policy of lifting restrictions on the relocation of used cars. Starting from August 1, 2022,The restrictions on moving in small non-operating second-hand cars that meet the national emission standards will be lifted nationwide (including in key areas designated by the State for air pollution prevention and control).We will promote the free circulation of used cars and cross-regional operations of enterprises.

After the removal of migration restrictions, circulation will be faster, and for consumers,Cheap used cars are now flowing in to cities that were previously unable to move to because of National 5 emission standards.

According to the China Automobile Dealers Association,In 2021, the number of used cars traded in China reached 17.5851 million, up 22.62% year on year;The transaction value reached 1,131.692 billion yuan, up 27.32 percent year on year. After the implementation of the new policy, the trading volume of second-hand cars in China is expected to increase significantly this year.

It is reported that at present, Zhejiang province, Jiangsu province, Hebei province, Sichuan Province, Chongqing Municipality, Tianjin municipality and Pearl River Delta have announced the lifting of the ban on second-hand car relocation, which will play a key role in further activating the second-hand car market.
