Earlier this week, Apple acknowledged speaker issues with the Studio Display, a high-end monitor starting at the 11499 price point, saying users could experience unexpected audio interruptions, audio playback acceleration, audio quality distortion and intermittent playback.
However, Apple's temporary solution for this situation is pretty straightforward: users who have a problem need to disconnect the Studio Display, unplug any connected accessories and devices, and then wait at least 10 seconds to power the device back up.
Fortunately, today Apple released a new iOS 15.5 firmware update for Studio Display, which fixes the device's speaker issues so users don't have to unplug.
In this update, Apple fixes bugs with the Studio Display and optimizes the camera to bring better noise reduction, contrast, and framing.
It's worth noting that Studio Display requires a connection to another Mac device to be able to update firmware, and once it's connected to a Mac, users can check their system preferences. The firmware is upgraded during the software update.
