Although Samsung has little presence in the domestic market, it is still the global leader in Android. The flagship S series still has a big market overseas. Early next year, it will launch the flagship Galaxy S23 series, which will reportedly use Samsung's 200 megapixel sensor lens.
Samsung has two 200 megapixel sensors, ISOCELL HP1 and ISOCELL HP3, but the S23 series uses ISOCELL HP2. The specific specifications are unknown, but the overall performance should be better than HP1 and HP3. After all, they are for Samsung's own use.
It is expected that the S23 series will have a better photo capability, but Samsung cannot rest easy with 200 megapixels, according to Notebookcheck. The 200-megapixel HP2 sensor's specs should actually be similar to the HP1's, but it's still not as impressive as the IMX989 sensor on Xiaomi's Mi 12S Ultra.
Even with the 200 megapixel boost of Samsung's flagship S23 Ultra next year, it's clear that it won't be able to take pictures as well as the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, as far as foreigners are concerned.
