Online shopping platform Shein surpassed Amazon in US mobile installations in the second quarter of 2022, according to Sensor Tower. Shein was downloaded about 6.8 million times, up 13% sequentially; Amazon saw 6.3 million downloads, down 7%.
The report notes that while Amazon's App adoption may have slowed in the US, its average monthly active users (MAUs) in the second quarter of 2022 were three times as high as Shein's, IT Home has learned. Still, Shein is adding U.S. users and closing the gap year by year. In the second quarter of 2020, Amazon had nearly nine times Shein's monthly active users, which dropped to four times in the second quarter of 2021.
The data shows Shein has achieved consistent quarter-on-quarter growth over the past three years. Shein's average active installations in the U.S. grew 436% last quarter compared to the second quarter of 2019.
According to SHEIN's official information, founded in 2012, SHEIN is a global fast fashion e-commerce platform.
