The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) stated on Wednesday evening that in an investigation related to the Amazon Prime member plan, the company's founder Bezos and CEO Andy Jiaxi could not avoid testimony.
Amazon asked the FTC to cancel the subpoena issued to Bezos and Jiaxi last month because they did not know the details of the Prime member registration and cancellation of the program. Related details are the focus of the above survey. According to the order issued on Wednesday, the FTC staff started the investigation in March 2021. It studied whether the company was induced by a misleading method to register Prime, and did not provide a simple method to cancel the recycling of the plan.
FTC's order pointed out that Amazon must largely abide by the June investigation requirements to seek information about other paid services plans for Amazon. Amazon has opposed the request, saying it is too cumbersome and broad.
