According to London police, on the evening of September 22, 2022,NCCU has arrested a 17-year-old in Oxfordshire on suspicion of hacking and he is in police custody.
Later, foreign media reported that the hacker arrested by London police was suspected of hacking R-Star and attacking Uber.
It was previously revealed that Tea Pot, the head of Lapsus$, was responsible for the R Star attack. Sources close to the case say the arrested hacker is linked to the hacking ring.
The hacking group Lapsus$has been involved in a number of incidents since late last year in which they steal data and try to extort money by threatening to leak it.It has previously targeted a number of tech companies including Microsoft, NVIDIA and Ubisoft.
The ride-hailing APP UBER also said today that it had recently been hit by Lapsus$and was in contact with the FBI and the US Department of Justice.
