Earlier this year, the European Union proposed a common USB-C port on mobile phones, which would be more environmentally friendly and allow multiple devices to share a single cable.
According to the latest news, the European Parliament has also approved the law,It requires all new mobile phones, tablets and other portable smart devices to use USB Type-C charging ports from the end of 2024.
The European Parliament passed a bill to unify charging ports for portable smart devices by 602 votes to 13. All mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, headsets, portable speakers, handheld video game consoles, e-readers, keyboards, mice and portable navigation systems will have a unified charging port within two years.
That includes Apple, which insists on using the Lightning port.
Based on the previous Revelations,Apple will be the first to introduce a USB-C port on the iPhone 15, which will not only make cables universal, but hopefully make the iPhone even faster to charge and transfer.
The current Lightning port has severely limited relevant performance. For example, the iPhone14 Pro port is still USB 2.0, and the speed is the same as before, up to 480 Mbps, but this is not enough when a 48 megapixel photo is over 50MB.
Fast charging will also break away from the shackle of Lightning interface and is expected to impact the power of more than 30W. With the iPhone's small battery, it will make up for some disadvantages in charging time.
