You may be familiar with Office apps on your phone or Windows device, but soon those apps will be changing their name. At its 2022 Ignite conference, Microsoft announced a new Microsoft 365 app. The new app will be the new hub for accessing Microsoft's corporate services and applications, both for businesses and for ordinary users like you and me.
Microsoft 365 apps will be available next month and will look a lot like existing Office apps. On Windows, the Web, and mobile devices, users can use it to open new documents, access shared files and content, or discover new apps and tools from your Microsoft 365 subscription. In addition, you can see suggestions for work to focus on based on your meetings, assignments, and other documentation activities. Most importantly, you can perform common fast operations without switching between different Microsoft 365 applications.
Microsoft is also adding new features to the new Microsoft 365 apps that aren't available in Office apps, including a new Feed that shows shared files from people you work with, as well as trends and popular content at work, which will appear as cards. Other new features include a redesigned app module that can go into any Microsoft 365 or third-party app, which will be available on mobile for the first time. The last feature is tagging, a new way of organizing work.
The changes include Office.com, Office mobile apps and Office Hub for Windows. Microsoft will gradually introduce new ICONS, a new look and more features for these apps or websites.
IT House has learned that Microsoft is planning to launch Microsoft 365 apps later in November.
