SONY believes that the recent price increase has not affected consumer demand for the PS5.

In the context of recent global exchange rate volatility,SONY has decided to raise the price of its PS5 console in all major countries except the United States.

At the same time, SONY says the price hike hasn't deterred gamers, who are still eager to get their hands on PS5 consoles.

SONY also reported that the PS5 sold 100,000 units in 17.5 hours in the United States, but the U.S. was not affected by the price hike.

In other countries and regions, SONY said the PS5 price increase has not affected demand at all.

SONY revealed in its earnings statement that it will have 18 million PS5s in stock this fiscal year to meet consumer demand, having produced 6.5 million PS5s in the second quarter alone.

SONY CFO Hiroki Shishi said in the company's second quarter 2022 earnings statement.
