AMD has made it clear that the RX 7900 XT/XTX rival is the RTX 4080, at least in terms of price, power consumption, graphics card size, installation friendliness, display interface and other aspects, AMD this generation is very advantageous.
However, Computerbase was looking through the AMD RX 7900 series' launch slides and found something interesting, called “ RX-841” AMD uses the same test bed (R9 7900X+32GB DDR5) to compare the RTX 4090 to the RX 7900 XTX.
The problem is, there's no source for RX-841 in the text. In other words, AMD did make a comparison, but deleted it because it didn't want to show the results.
It makes sense, of course, that if the $7999 RX 7900 XTX really does compete with the $12999 RTX 4090, then NVIDIA could just drop out of the graphics world and not play anymore. …
In fact, according to third-party game scores, the RTX 4090 performed well above the RX 7900 XTX with or without optical Chase.
