Ahead of next week's CES 2023 International Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung unveiled its latest Bespoke Family Hub refrigerator, which features a huge 32-inch touch screen that can be used to watch videos, control SmartThings-compatible smart home devices, post notes, check recipes, view family photos, and so on.
The refrigerator, called Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub Plus, will be on display at Samsung's CES 2023 booth in Las Vegas from January 5, 2023. Compared with the 21.5-inch display screen of the previous generation of refrigerators, the new model has more than twice its screen size, reaching 32 inches. Users can watch more than 190 channels in the United States or about 80 channels in South Korea through the Samsung TV Plus app, and videos can also be viewed in picture-in-picture mode.
Because the display is vertical, it optimizes vertical video for services such as Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Users can also use Samsung's Bespoke Atelier app to display works of art and paintings on the screen.
Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub Plus has built-in SmartThings, which means that users do not need to buy a separate Internet of things hub. The refrigerator has six SmartThings services: SmartThings Energy, SmartThings Cooking, SmartThings Air Care, SmartThings Home Care, SmartThings Pet Care and SmartThings clothing Care.
IT House learned that the Family Hub refrigerator currently on sale by Samsung integrates with OneDrive, and in the latest model, Samsung has added support for Google photos and Amazon Your Essentials integration so that users can order the necessary groceries. The refrigerator is expected to go on sale in South Korea and the United States in a few weeks.
