A White paper on China's 5G mobile phone products (2023 edition) compiled by China Radio and Television Mobile Network Co LTD was released on Dec 30. According to the note, upholding the development concept of integration, openness and innovation, China Broadcasting and Television will release a white paper on 5G mobile phones every year from March 2022, and this will be the 2023 white paper, in order to further lead the development of the terminal and chip industry chain, promote the maturity of the 700M industry chain, and do a good job in the collaboration, co-construction and sharing of the terminal network.
By December 2022, China's 5G core network has accessed more than 3.6 million 4G/5G base stations, including 2.34 million 4G base stations and 1.26 million 5G base stations. The total number of dispatching 4/5G base stations ranks among the top in China.In the first three quarters of 2022, the support rate of 700MHz band (2x30MHz) for new 5G mobile phones has exceeded 95 percent. After August 2022, all new mobile phones of mainstream brands can support broadcasting network as soon as they leave the factory. By December 2022, mainstream manufacturers have completed software adaptation upgrade models of more than 550 models, covering the main models of mainstream brands within four years, including smart phones, wearable devices, tablets, senior devices, Cpes, etc.
The white paper also sets out some goals and priorities for the coming year.
1) In 2023, for the commercial use of 5G networks, China Broadcasting and Television will focus on co-construction and sharing of network coverage, high-quality communication experience, characteristic services and other aspects. Continue to promote the improvement of 5G terminals to support 700MHz large bandwidth, VoNR HD voice commercial, IMS fixed network business, 5G new call, RedCap thin terminal, R16 new features, NTN air and earth integration and other commercial work, and carry out industrial promotion and pre-commercial preparation for R17 multicast broadcasting technology.
2) China Broadcasting and Television will continue to optimize the depth and breadth of network coverage, and continue to improve the core network of the Internet of Things, toB core network, business platform and other aspects to provide broader and more wonderful communication services.
3) China Broadcasting and Television will keep pace with The Times, seize the opportunity, continue to strengthen the deep cooperation with industrial partners, covering terminals, chips, modules, instruments, etc. Accelerate the improvement of industrial ecology, promote the industrialization of 700MHz related terminal enhancement technologies, accelerate the end-to-end product R&D and test verification, and carry out joint R&D and innovation of business applications and products with industrial partners in the fields of basic communication capability, Internet of Things, Internet of vehicles, industrial Internet, smart home, cultural digital service platform, high-tech video, etc. Build industry integration ecology, achieve win-win cooperation.
In terms of mode selection, when using the China Radio and television account card,In mainland China, the priority of scene network selection is 5G (SA) and 4G from the highest to the lowest, and 2G and 3G networks are not supported by China's broadcasters.Mandatory Support to identify PLMN 46015 as China Radio and Television. The PLMN 46015 supports the identification of USIM card, and the terminal displays "China Radio and Television". PLMN 46013 belongs to China Mobile and can be displayed according to the requirements of China Mobile.
n28 band 703MHz-733MHz/758MHz-788MHz (n28a) is mandatory. n28b or n28 45M*2 full bandwidth is recommended. China Radio and Television 4G Network and China Mobile co-build and share, using the frequency band B3, B8, B34, B38, B39, B40, B41. China Radio and Television 5G Network and China Mobile co-construction and sharing, the use of frequency bands N28, N41, N79.
It is recommended to support domestic roaming of different networks. If the terminal supports roaming of different networks, the identification of home network and visiting network operator should be displayed at the same time. NR user plane delay: In the uplink/downlink direction of wireless air interface, the delay used to successfully transmit an application layer packet/message from the 2/3 SDU entry point at the air interface protocol stack layer to the 2/3 SDU exit point at the peer protocol stack layer is no more than 6ms on the upstream one-way delay and no more than 4ms on the downstream one-way delay in eMBB scenarios.
It is worth mentioning that the white paper of China Broadcasting and Television listed the "functional requirements for aging", which stipulated the functional requirements for aging of mobile phone products suitable for the elderly, including graphic display, audio control, touch operation, voice interaction, remote assistance, emergency application, health detection and other functions. Based on the necessary functions required by the elderly when they use mobile phones in their daily life and the support capability of current terminals, the requirements of age-appropriate functions are divided into basic age-appropriate functions (mandatory support functions) and enhanced age-appropriate functions (recommended support functions). Terminals should first support basic age-appropriate functions, and then gradually realize enhanced age-appropriate functions. If the product supports all basic age-appropriate functions, the product will be judged as "basic age-appropriate"; If more than 2 (including 2) enhanced age-appropriate functions are supported on this basis, the product will be judged as an "enhanced age-appropriate" product.
