According to OnlyTech, Amazon has begun testing a new Amazon Prime Lite membership level.
According to OnlyTech, Amazon Prime Lite is priced at 999 rupees per year in India, compared with 1,499 rupees per year for a standard Amazon Prime subscription.
On the streaming side, Amazon Prime Lite will offer users all the content of a standard Prime membership, but only in HD resolution, rather than the highest resolution (4K) available for video streaming. Prime Lite also limits users to two devices at a time, one of which must be mobile.
It's worth noting that Amazon has launched a mobile-only streaming plan in India for only Rs 599 per year.
In addition, Amazon Prime Lite customers do not get any other benefits, whether Prime music, Prime games, e-books, or free EMI are only available to standard Amazon Prime members.
At this time, Amazon has not provided an official statement on the Beta trial of Prime Lite, so IT is unclear to IT House when the company will launch this test program or when Amazon is preparing to officially roll it out, though we expect more details to emerge in the coming days.
