Microsoft fixes Teams, Outlook, OneDrive and other downtime issues

IT House, Jan. 26 -- Microsoft is investigating network issues after tens of thousands of users around the world reported being unable to access services like Teams and Outlook. The latest is that Microsoft says it has now "confirmed that the affected services have been restored and remain stable, and is investigating some potential impact on Exchange online services.

In a series of previous tweets from the Microsoft 365 Status Twitter account, Microsoft said it was taking steps to isolate the problem, but did not mention the extent of its impact.

Microsoft previously said, "We are investigating issues affecting multiple Microsoft 365 services and have rolled back network changes that we believe will have an impact. When the rollback takes effect, we are monitoring the service."

Downdetector, an online downtime tracker, shows that nearly 4,000 people in India were affected and more than 5,000 people in the United Kingdom reported that Outlook was inaccessible. Australia, Japan and the United Arab Emirates also saw a spike in reports of downtime visits. A large number of users were also affected in China.

According to Microsoft, more than 280 million people worldwide use Microsoft Teams across businesses and schools, etc. IT House has learned that other services affected by the outage include Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.

Microsoft previously said it also investigated connectivity issues with cloud computing service Azure that affected "some users.
