Recently, 微软为了争取英国监管机构对其与动视暴雪合并的支持,在英国多家报纸上包下整个版面,高调刊登相关广告。
In the AD, Microsoft said that if the $69 billion deal goes through,Xbox will be able to offer the Call of Duty series to an additional 150 million players.
I say "another 150 million" because, according to current statistics, Nintendo Switch and NVIDIA GeForce Now have around 125 million and 25 million users respectively.
In addition to creating buzz through advertising,Microsoft has also repeatedly said that the acquisition of Activision Blizzard would not create a monopoly or reduce competition.
To make its point, Microsoft has offered SONY a 10-year, enforceable contract.
The contract will see every new Call of Duty game launch on PlayStation the same day it hits Xbox, and be exactly the same in terms of content and features.
Unfortunately, SONY's position remains firm.
In an earlier closed-door hearing before European Commission regulators, SONY Interactive CEO Jim Ryan said:"I don't want a new Call of Duty deal. I just want to stop Microsoft and Activision Blizzard from merging."
SONY's firm opposition to Microsoft's successful acquisition of Activision Blizzard is undoubtedly the biggest obstacle at this stage.
