Apple has been granted a patent for new technology related to its AirPods, according to a listing published today by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office. According to the patent, AirPods wearers can control their AirPods by using head movements and posture.
According to the patent, AirPods wearers can lower the volume by nodding down; Lean back to turn up the volume. Or the user can set the head to the left to lower the volume; Turn your head to the right to turn up the volume.
In order to prevent misoperation, Apple requires the user to perform the operation on the headset before activating the head position, and switch to the head control mode by touching, squeezing and holding.
The AirPods sensors determine the current position of the user's head and use that as a basis, then act accordingly based on how the wearer's head is moving. Apple sets certain thresholds to avoid misoperation.
