On the evening of March 13, South Korean newspaper Korea Economic Daily reported that Tesla would end its partnership with BYD,Tesla will no longer use BYD's blade batteries。
The report also pointedly listed three reasons; 1. Blade battery safety issues; 2. Considering the subsidy policies related to electric vehicles in the United States; 3. Byd manufactures and exports electric vehicles in Europe, India, Southeast Asia and other places in direct competition with Tesla (this is the most direct and fundamental factor).
The article also claimed thatTesla's reliance on LG Energy solutions is expected to grow even strongerLG Energy Solutions and CATL (Ningde Times) will be used in Europe and Panasonic products in North America.
In response to the report, BYD Auto today (14) has been on the rumor, saying that the report is "false information, not consistent with the actual situation."
