High-speed Internet access in urban rail trains is a major pain point. Huawei and Beijing Jiaotong University have made a breakthrough in this area.The Wi-Fi 6 technology flexed its muscles, reaching 980Mbps at 350km/h.
That's not even a record. It's even 1.4Gbps at 160 kilometers per hour.
Recently, "National Engineering Research Center of Rail Transit Operation Control System" (hereinafter referred to as "Beijing Jiaotong University Rail Transit Engineering Center") released the "Huawei WLAN System High-speed Scenario Laboratory Test Report".
According to the report, Huawei and the Rail Transit Engineering Center of Beijing Jiaotong University jointly completed a test of the urban rail service carrying capacity of the Wi-Fi 6 communication system in the dismounting area of 350km/h high-speed mobile scene.
The test results show that the bandwidth reaches 980Mbps when the train runs 350km/h.It fully reflects Huawei's leading position in the field of urban rail Wi-Fi 6.
According to the Report, in order to verify the availability of Huawei Urban rail Ground Wi-Fi 6 network in high-speed mobile scenarios, Beijing Jiaotong University Rail Transit Engineering Center operated at 120km/h, 160km/h, 200km/h, 260km/h and 350km/h respectively. Using the product combination of Huawei AirEngine X760R-XXE trackside AP and AirEngine 6760-51EI on-board AP, the carrying capacity of Huawei urban rail ground Wi-Fi 6 network on train passenger information system (PIS) and video service was tested.
Urban rail speed up and into the "fully automatic operation" era
With the economic development and the continuous improvement of China's urbanization rate, urban rail transit, as the commuting infrastructure in metropolitan areas, is becoming the first choice for citizens to travel.

Easy deployment: Railside aps are portable and installed in an integrated chassis, which integrates railside aps, antenna feeders, power supply modules, and outdoor protection functions. The installation period is reduced by 67% and delivery efficiency is improved.
