Earlier, Musk had publicly accused Microsoft of controlling or having a strong say in OpenAI.
Today, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella publicly responded to Musk's accusation in an interview.
Nadella said Musk's claim was incorrect,OpenAI is controlled by a non-profit board of directors. "We have a non-controlling stake and a good business partnership in it."
In other words, while Microsoft does have a stake in OpenAI and works heavily with it,But they still haven't done enough to force OpenAI to comply, and all of the deals are business as usual.
Fast science and Technology
OpenAI was founded as a non-profit company in 2015. In 2019, the company changed its structure, changed its name to OpenAI LP, and changed the company into a "restricted profit" entity.
The current OpenAI receives outside investment and has a commercial project, but all investors are not allowed to make more than 100 times their initial investment, and latecomers like Microsoft are getting even lower returns.
In this way, while ensuring funding, OpenAI avoids being controlled by a large capital enterprise, or losing its original intention of promoting the orderly development of AI technology by being too commercialized.
