Despite the settlement, Google does not believe it did anything wrong.

In November, Google paid $391.5 million to settle a similar dispute with 40 U.S. states. Some states are not happy and insist on taking Google to court. In October, Arizona settled with Google for $85 million.

Google responded to the Washington settlement by referring to statements it has issued in past settlements with multiple states, emphasizing that the company had addressed numerous concerns raised by regulators.
