Recently, the long March 3B carrier rocket developed by the Chinese Academy of launch vehicle Technology was blasted off from the Xichang Satellite launch Center, which means that the 56th Beidou navigation satellite was successfully launched. The number of Beidou navigation satellites has far exceeded that of GPS satellites in the United States. Is the United States afraid?

Among the four major satellite navigation systems in the world, China already has the largest number of Beidou navigation satellites. The regional system of Beidou 2 has 15 stars in service, while Beidou 3 has 30 stars, with a total of 45 satellites.

The main satellite navigation systems in the world are American GPS, China Beidou, Russian Gronas, European Galileo and so on. So far, there are more than 30 American GPS satellites, 26 European Galileo satellites and 30 Russian Gronas satellites. The number of Beidou satellites in China far exceeds that of other countries.

Why did China launch so many Beidou satellites? It is mainly to increase the coverage area and expand the capacity of the Internet.

The accuracy of the Beidou system is 10 meters, and in the actual testing process, it is usually 2-3 meters, in which there is a frequency signal, and the positioning accuracy can reach more than 1 meter at best in the world.

The positioning accuracy of GPS system can be kept within 20m-50m, and the speed estimation error is less than 0.1m/s. The positioning accuracy of the civilian version of Gronas is about 15 meters, and the speed accuracy is also at the level of 0.1m/s. The free civil positioning accuracy of Galileo system in Europe is 1 meter. Of course, with the auxiliary enhancement device, the four systems can achieve positioning accuracy of centimeters or even millimeters.

The American GPS is also improving, and it is said that the civilian accuracy of the third generation GPS will be three times higher than that of the second generation. The civilian precision will reach 1 meter.
