Fast Technology May 19 - Russian users are becoming more and more receptive to Chinese domestic brands, which is quite impressive.
According to the latest poll by MVideoEldorado, a large Russian home appliance sales group, the majority of Russian consumers (nearly 80%) believe that Chinese and domestic electronics and home appliance brands have completely or partially replaced those brands that have withdrawn from the Russian market or reduced their scale in the Russian market.
From January to March, Chinese brand Xiaomi was the No. 1 smartphone seller in Russia, followed by Realme and Transsion in third place, according to estimates by M.V-Eldorado Group.
Compared with last year, the demand for Chinese mobile phone brands increased by as much as 70 percent, and their total market share in Russia exceeded 70 percent. Chinese brand Haier jumped from second to first place in unit sales of refrigerators and washing machines.
In addition to mobile phones, domestic brands such as TV sets are also selling out in Russia, with Haier and Hisense becoming the biggest winners.
In fact, according to data from MTS, the most popular smartphone brand in Russia in 2022, in terms of sales volume, is China's Xiaomi and its sub-brand Poco, with 33 percent of the market share, of which Xiaomi Redmi 9A was the top-selling smartphone in the January-November period last year.
In the January-November 2022 mobile phone market, the market share of Chinese mobile phone brands reached 65 percent (about 13.5 million units), up 15 percentage points from 50 percent in the same period last year.
