With the improvement of the competitiveness of new energy vehicles, Chinese brand cars are becoming more and more popular in the international market. In the first quarter, China surpassed Japan and became the world's largest new car exporter.

Statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers show that in the first quarter,Domestic auto companies exported 994,000 units, up 70 percent year on year, surpassing Japan's 954,000 units, up 6 percent.

It is worth mentioning that in April, China's automobile export of 376,000 units, a year-on-year growth of 170%, maintaining a good momentum.

In terms of manufacturers, SAIC ranked first with 231,000 units of exports, followed by Chery with 172,000 units, Tesla with 92,000 units, Changan with 90,000 units and Geely with 53,000 units.

According to the General Administration of Customs data compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the top 10 countries in terms of the value of China's auto exports in the first quarter of 2023 are Russia, the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Japan, Australia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea.

Due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, international brands in the Russian automobile market were replaced by Chinese brands. In the first quarter, the cumulative sales volume of Chinese automobiles in the Russian market reached 66,000 units, accounting for 42.5% of the market share. Six Chinese brands ranked top 10 in the sales volume of Russia.Russia has become the biggest buyer of Chinese exports.
