Canadian police have released a report into a Tesla crash that occurred when it lost control of its vehicle, suggesting driver error, not mechanical failure, was to blame.
West Vancouver Police Department spokesman Mark McLean said:"Based on the analysis of the vehicle data, investigators determined that the collision was human-caused."
A spokesman said the Tesla driver who caused the crash was a 68-year-old man from Vancouver,He was ticketed under the Canada Motor Vehicle Act for causing an accident while driving inattentive.
At the time of the collision, the estimated damage to the ferry structure was more than $30,000, but the ferry company has now changed its wording to say the damage was "in the thousands", he added.
In January, a Tesla Model 3 crashed into a ramp at Horseshoe Bay Ferry terminal in West Vancouver, Canada. At the time police said the electric car was trying to board the ferry when it "suddenly accelerated" and hit a gate.
The crash scene showed that the front of the car had been completely destroyed and that all of the vehicle's air bags had been deployed.Rescue workers in the rescue, also the vehicle's passenger side of the B-pillar cut out.
According to the local police investigation report, the vehicle did not suffer brake failure or automatic unintended acceleration, but the driver's error caused the accident.
