Now that Musk has found a CEO for Twitter, does Tesla have a successor in mind?
Recently, Musk said he had identified a successor to Tesla's board,This person will take over the company if something happens to them.He did not name the person, however.
"I've told the board, 'Listen, if anything happens to me, this is who I'm recommending to you to take over the company,'" Musk said at a media event on Tuesday.
As for who that mystery successor might be, Tesla board members have reportedly discussed CFO Zach Kirkhorn as a potential successor to Musk as CEO, and,Zhu Xiaotong, head of Tesla Greater ChinaA potential candidate, he has risen rapidly through the ranks, recently ranking as one of Tesla's top four executives.
The reason Musk is likely to let go of Tesla is that he is running too many companies with too many jobs, which has caused concern among many board members. It is worth noting that Musk recently said that he will also build a new gigafactory at the end of this year, possibly in India.
