On September 27, Panos Panay, the former head of product at Microsoft, is going to Amazon.
Amazon announced today that Panos Panai will lead Amazon's Devices and Services business when Dave Limp steps down later this year, starting at the end of October.
Panos has spent more than 19 years at Microsoft, most recently as executive vice president and chief product officer, where he led Windows development and the Surface product line. On September 19th Mr Panos announced he was leaving. The news comes as a surprise, after all, just last month he said he was excited to speak about Microsoft's AI innovations at a special event scheduled for September 21.
IT House noted that Panos said in his statement that he was leaving the company for personal reasons. He said: "After 19 incredible years at Microsoft, I have decided to turn the page and write the next chapter. I am forever grateful for my time at Microsoft and the amazing people I had the privilege of developing products with."
