Under the special situation, many companies have left China in such a way, which is understandable, but as a PC manufacturer, Dell has always been a pioneer in leaving China.
In March 2023, the full script and schedule of Dell's so-called "de-centralization" were exposed:2025年在中下游供应链排除中国内地制造，2026年开始在零件采购上分阶段离开中国，2027年在美销售产品百分之百脱离中国制造……
Dell PC once ranked second in the Chinese market, the Chinese market has also contributed a huge amount of revenue for Dell, so such a bowl to eat, put down the bowl of abuse behavior has naturally been spurned by consumers and the market, it is not without Dell can not live.
According to market research firm Canalys,Dell PC shipments in the Chinese market plummeted, the first quarter fell by 45%, the second quarter fell by 52%, the share has been less than 8%, overtaken by Huawei, may soon become "Others".
In the server market, Dell is also abandoned, the share has been less than 5%, Inspur, New China Three, ZTE and other domestic brands are more favored.
In the third quarter, Dell reported a 12% year-over-year decline in revenue, including an 11% loss in its PC business.
For most of the past six months, Dell has been silent about the "exit from China", but it seems that the situation can not be cleaned up, and finally can not sit still.
On November 24, Dell held a high-profile celebration of the 25th anniversary of its entry into China at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing to review its development history and achievements since entering China.
At the event, Dell global senior Vice President Wu Dongmei publicly responded in an interview:"We have never published any of the so-called 'information' or 'comments' mentioned above. Dell's code of conduct around the world is not to comment on "rumors." This has been our consistent position. But unfortunately, this attitude has been wrongly and unilaterally interpreted as "no comment is confirmation", and even some people have fabricated that "relevant information comes from Dell officials". I can tell you for sure that these rumors are absolutely 'rumors'!"
She also stressed,China has always been an important international market for Dell, and we look forward to continuing to develop in China in the future. Dell's commitment to you is unwavering and has not changed and will not change.
Wu Dongmei also mentioned that Dell has three major production bases in Xiamen, Chengdu and Kunshan, which supply products to the world, of which Xiamen and Chengdu factories are fully self-operated, and Dell will be the largest manufacturing enterprise in Xiamen in 2023 and the fifth largest manufacturing enterprise in Chengdu in 2023.
